“Give the teddy to the baby”

Playtime is an app which helps a child to develop their understanding of instructions. Children have to give toys to the friendly boy, girl or baby.  If they follow the instruction correctly the child will make a friendly “yippee” noise. If they get the instruction wrong the toy will be replaced and the instruction will be repeated.

The instructions start very easy at “one key word level”.

An example of this instruction would be “give the ball to the baby” when there is only a ball on display. This instruction should normally be followed by children from 18 months old.

The next level is “two key word level”.

An example of this instruction would be “give the rattle to the girl” but this time there will be a selection of toys on display”. This instruction should normally be followed by children between 2 and 3 years.

The next level is “three key word level”.

An example of this instruction would be “give the ball and the rattle to the boy”. This instruction should normally be followed by children between 3 and 4 years.

The next level is “four key word level”.

An example of this instruction would be “give the teddy to the boy and the drum to the girl”.  This instruction should normally be followed by children from 4 years onwards.
